With over 35 years of diverse industrial experience, including more than 12 years in international executive roles, Frank Hurst, representing HMTEC CC, focuses on advanced mechanical excavation techniques for tunnel and shaft construction, primarily utilizing mechanical excavation methods such as Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).
Based in South Africa, his company, HMTEC CC, focuses on business development for European OEMs in the underground civil construction and mining industry.
The engineering group bring together decades of experience and expertise to offer a comprehensive range of engineering services for Tunnel Boring, Microtunneling, Pipe-Jacking, and Shaft Sinking projects.
Oversee project planning and deliver comprehensive presentations.
Define the geotechnical conditions and evaluate data from previous projects.
Assess geotechnical risks and their interaction with the TBM.
Compare different TBM tunneling options (e.g., smaller vs. larger diameter) and choose the TBM accordingly.
Develop cost estimates and timelines for each tunneling option.
Compile and present a detailed report covering all aspects.
